Pass the Eggnog

So this was supposed to be a post with a video of LJ's Winter Concert. And I have the video. BUT it's a short video of LJ coming out, noticing that the reed on her clarinet was broken and sitting while band played on. OH well.

Also missing is my address book. I'm slowly pestering people and getting phone numbers and addresses. So that's the big reason that you may not get a card or package until January. OK have a good week, I'm heading to the post office...

Monday rant

Ugh. Chris left this morning for Barksdale. The suckiness (if it's not, it should be a word) of this whole thing just grows and grows. Plan was for him to sign in and then take the leave he's been saving up and come home for Christmas since his tech schools don't start until January and since he can't do his job until he completes those schools. BUT apparently someone spread a rumor that he was having "family issues" and that's why his orders were delayed twice. Actually he was ordered to finish the program he was developing and then it was audited. But you know how rumors spread, so he won't be home for Christmas and he may not be allowed to visit before, between or after his tech schools. All this was found out a few weeks ago so we had an early Christmas and opened some presents early.

Second bit of unpleasantness is the fine print discovered last week that because of the timing of this assignment and Chris' upcoming retirement, the military won't pay for us to move. Nice. And, since it comes in 3's...Chris was outprocessing the base Friday and was notified that due to a glitch, Chris owes the military 4 grand and they want it now. Merry Christmas.

Just so you know, I wasn't laughing at Lauren. I was laughing because I was amazed how she could take such a hit and still bounce right up...mmmm.
